2011-04-04 11:56

A program packed with excitement was what the parents and friends had ahead of them. First of a figure skating show to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" starring Vera Björklund 7F, Ida Sjöholm Wallin 8D, Alexander Backlund 9C and of course team captain Klara Galanti 9E. This was followed by 13 strong performances by skaters from both junior and senior school. To give the honorable jury (consisting of 7 senior school staff members representing 6 countries and 3 continents) enough time to figure out the average scores for each contestant the Swedish champions in pair skating, Alexander and Vera, presented the audience as well as the jury with their routine leaving people breath taken and speechless except for an occasional "wow". This inspired Biffen, the school mascot to show of his skills on skates showing a few of the tricks in his repertoire, the meatball to name one.

Honorable mention was given to Ida Sjöholm Wallin (The Moniker - Oh My God)after an average score of  5,22 out of a maximum 6,0. She was given the honorable mention due to fourth highest score as well as picking up figure skating again to help the team out. Second runner up was Sandra Backlund 5A after receiving an average score of 5,4. With an average score of 5,52 was Sebastian Bramefjord 6A able to grab a hold of the runner up award. The one skater no one could touch was eminent Klara Galanti who with an average score of 5,84 (also the only perfect 6,0 of the day) who took home the trophy and the title "IESG Figure Skating Champion 2011" as well as a spot on the Wall of Fame.
